Eight teams involving 58 alumni will be competing in the annual Hampton alumni basketball tournament.
This year’s event has eight games Saturday and six on Sunday, a change from the previous format of 10 and four, respectively.
Games will feature two 20-minute halves, and if overtime is needed, the first team to score five points in the extra session wins.
The tournament begins Saturday at 10 a.m. when the 2012-13 team plays against the 1999 squad. At 11 a.m., the 2006-08 group plays 1995-98, while 2004-05 and 1971-94 take the floor at noon. The final first-round matchup is 2000-03 against 2009-11 at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Sunday action begins at 10 a.m. with the championship game scheduled for for 3 p.m.
