Aurora’s boys upped their winning streak to five games but not without a little bit of drama with the Huskies winning back-to-back road games. They won over Crete on Friday 54-48 and Saturday at Hastings 37-36.
Against Crete, Blake Williams sank four three-pointers and the Huskies scored the first four points in the final quarter to break a 38-all tie.
“Both teams stayed composed when it looked like the other team was going to go on a big run,” noted Husky coach Rick Bell. “It was a very good basketball game to be a part of and I thought we executed very well when we needed to get a score. We did a good job of executing in the fourth quarter. We handled their pressure and even scored some easy baskets against their press.”
