Grazing cornstalks beneficial to two industries PDF E-mail

While corn producers may be reluctant to graze cornstalks, fearing a negative impact on subsequent years’ yields, it actually may have the opposite affect, said Aaron Stalker, University of Nebraska beef specialist from North Platte.
“Cornstalks are an under-utilized resource,” Stalker told producers attending the 2013 Hamilton County Ag Day. “There is no detrimental effect on subsequent years’ yields and, in some cases, it can actually be a benefit.”
