Nebraska Public Power District crews converged on a substation in downtown Aurora last week, disassembling the structure piece and piece in the final phase of a five-phase system upgrade.

In less than two days’ time, the K Street structure was leveled, leaving only some concrete that has yet to be removed. Soil sampling is also planned to test for contamination.
