Gov. Dave Heineman gave the TransCanada Keystone XL reroute through Nebraska his approval last week, putting the fate of the tar sands oil pipeline into the hands of President Barack Obama. In a letter addressed to both Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Heineman detailed the state’s process prior to his approval, including the lengthy study by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. |
