Newly-elected Hamilton County commissioner John Thomas took over the leadership helm in his first county board meeting Monday morning when he was unanimously elected chairman of the five-man board during the annual reorganization.

Commissioner Doug Andersen was elected vice chairman.

There also was a shuffling of committee assignments, along with the designation of county depositories, official newspaper, official website, county physician and appointments to various boards.
