Once the top-rated High Plains boys basketball team’s defense took control, there was no stopping the Storm.

Hampton’s boys held the ball for 1:26 to open the game and took an 8-7 lead with 2:19 to go in the first quarter, but High Plains responded with the final six points of the stanza en route to a 15-1 run to jump-start the Storm on its way to a 72-36 win Thursday.
