The High Plains wrestling team had its work cut out before it hit the mat last week.

Sure, it was the Storm’s own invitational, but it featured 19 other schools including one Class A varsity, six Class B varsity and seven more which compete in a class above High Plains.

The Storm had nine entered into the first day of competition Friday, which featured pools of wrestlers among the weight classes, and four advanced to Saturday’s championship brackets.
