Snowfall has little impact on drought PDF E-mail

Drought conditions which hit Nebraska hard last June have persisted throughout the fall and thus far this winter.

The blizzard which hit less than a week before Christmas and the snowfall shortly after Santa’s visit did nothing to slow down the drought, much less alleviate concerns about dryness.

In fact, nearly 77.5 percent of the state is in a D4 drought, the most severe category in the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor that was released Thursday.
