Area teams set for basketball holiday tourneys PDF E-mail

The Hampton, Giltner and High Plains basketball teams all compete at different holiday tournaments on Dec. 28 and 29, a change from the original schedule for Giltner and Hampton.

Hampton plays Walthill on Dec. 28 at the Mead Holiday Tournament, with the girls at 2:45 p.m. and the boys at 4:30 p.m. On Dec. 29, the girls consolation is at 1 p.m., boys consolation at 2:45 p.m., girls championship at 4:30 p.m. and the boys championship at 6:15 p.m.

The High Plains teams will take on East Butler in the Friend Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28, with the girls at 5:45 p.m. and boys at 7:15 p.m. The girls consolation is at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 29, with the boys consolation at 4 p.m., girls championship at 5:45 p.m. and boys championship at 7:15 p.m.

Seedings for the Elba Holiday Tournament, which includes Giltner, Heartland Lutheran and Ansley/Litchfield and Elba/North Loup-Scotia will be determined by the NSAA power points at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The No. 1 and No. 4 girls teams play at 10 a.m. Dec. 28 in game one, with the No. 1 and No. 4 boys following at 11:45 a.m. in game two. The second- and third-best girls teams play at 1:30 p.m. in game three with the boys matchup at 3:15 p.m. in game four. On Dec. 29, the games one and three losers play at 10 a.m., with the games two and four losers at 11:45 a.m. The two girls teams which won their openers play at 1:30 p.m. in the championship, while the boys teams play at 3:15 p.m. in the championship.
