A two-vehicle wreck just inside the Hamilton-York County line on Interstate 80 last week claimed the lives of two people from Florida.

Alexander L. Ramos, 34, of Hialeah, Fla., was eastbound in a 2004 Nissan at about 1:15 p.m. Nov. 20 when a westbound 2006 Ford truck, driven by John R. Kreykes, 80, of Sheldon, Iowa, crossed the median and hit the Nissan nearly head-on, according to the report by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Ramos and a passenger, Karelys Garcia, 28, of Miami, who owned the Nissan, were both killed as a result of the accident. Kreykes was transported to Henderson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. Both vehicles were totaled.
