Syngenta making big impact in county, state PDF E-mail

There’s no argument that agriculture drives the economy in Hamilton County.

One prime example sits just 10 miles west of Aurora at the Syngenta plant, where a $63 million expansion project is well under way.

When completed in 2012, the expansion will triple Syngenta’s footprint and give them a new green corn receiving facility, harvest complex with additional single pass reversing dryer capacity, an increase in bulk seed storage, new conditioning tower and additional warehousing.

What that means, Syngenta plant manager Bill Hunter told Aurora Rotary Club members last week, is the capability of expanding the grower base by nearly 5,000 acres of seed corn production.
