MCC pet diagnosed with cancer PDF E-mail

Buddy is dying.

The 10-year-old Memorial Community Care facility pet has lung cancer and the prognosis is bad.

It was sobering news for those who love the gentle, caring canine.

The residents he visits on a daily basis are in tears.

Staff members, who stop to hug and pet him as he makes his way down hallways, are in tears.

Activities director Pam Janzen, who claims Buddy as a family member, is in tears.

The golden retriever has given so much to so many residents who needed a pick-me-up and he’s brightened the day of so many staff members.

Now, when Buddy struggles to breathe -- laying down in the middle of a hallway to catch his breath -- those who love him can do nothing to help him.
