Hampton’s football team flew back from a big deficit, but fell just short Friday night at Mead in a 64-60 loss. The Hawks (0-6) faced a 64-40 deficit at halftime, but responded with 20 second-half points, including a 25-yard touchdown pass from Tristan Boyce to Josh Spanjer with 2:45 to play. But Hampton missed the two-point conversion, and the Raiders held on. The game seemed to turn when Hampton returned a fumble four yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter. Midway through the fourth, Boyce threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Alex Wall and Boyce found Ty Ogden for the extra two and a 10-point deficit. |
