Drought aflatoxin concerns impact harvest PDF E-mail

For months corn producers have been worried about low yields and high irrigation costs in the face of an ongoing drought.

Now, it’s harvest time and they have another worry to contend with -- aflatoxins.

It’s enough of a worry that all corn being trucked out of Aurora Cooperative’s Murphy branch elevator this fall that is headed for P&G Pet Care plants is now being sampled and then tested at Hastings Grain Inspection in Grand Island.
