| Hamilton increases broadband capacity |

The Aurora-based company completed installation of an additional high-capacity fiber optic ring in June which is capable of carrying more than 10 gigabytes per second (Gbps) of local data transport. By securing a 10 Gbps port from a leading Tier 1 provider, the company bumped its internet access from 1 to 11 Gbps and can now distribute that speed to its customers. Hamilton Telecommunications has upgraded its high-tech infrastructure in a way company officials say will increase its capacity more than 10 fold in response to societal trends and consumer demand.
