Rural Aurora resident Duane Katt has filed a recall affidavit principal circulator form with Hamilton County Clerk Pat Anderson -- the first step in forcing a recall election for county commissioner Tim Bergen in District 5.

Katt, who serves as Hamilton County surveyor, alleges Bergen is not allowing elected officials to do statutory duties, is creating a hostile work environment and is involved with questionable sales and purchases of county equipment by not going through a bid process.

Katt declined to elaborate on his reasons for beginning the recall process against Bergen.
