Holland car dealer returns to Aurora 50 years later PDF E-mail

A Holland car dealer who spent a year in Aurora back in 1961-62 returned 50 years later this week and said his time here had a tremendous impact on his business success.

"If felt like coming home," Allen van Vliet said during a weeklong stay in Aurora. "People are so friendly. It’s perfect."

van Vliet was a much younger man when he first ventured to Hamilton County as part of an exchange program created and directed by automotive dealers here and abroad. He was 25 at the time, preparing to take over as the third generation of a family-owned GM dealership in Woerden, Holland.
