A grassroots effort to combine a privately-funded indoor aquatic/recreation center with the city of Aurora’s proposed outdoor aquatic center appears to be gaining momentum in just its second week of existence.

Aquatic Recreation Center (ARC) chairman Robb Nachtigal said group membership has already more than tripled and they are working to gain the endorsement of several key groups in the community, one of those being the Hamilton Recreation Task Force.

"It’s rolling. It’s starting to build," Nachtigal said. " We received interest and willingness from the city to continue to work on this plan.
