Employees with Aurora-based Hamilton Telecommunications’ relay service found themselves near the eye of the storm last week when Hurricane Isaac hit southern Louisiana.
The Hamilton Relay office in Baton Rouge, La., one of five company-owned relay centers, went into emergency mode, gearing up to do whatever was necessary to provide communication services to the deaf and hard of hearing.
John Nelson, president of Hamilton Relay, said he was proud of the way employees at the Louisiana site stepped up to the challenge.
