Installation of Aurora’s new field turf was completed Tuesday after an unexpected delay in the process. A South Carolina-based crew had expected to complete the lettering work and install the rubber surface last week, though that plan was derailed when some of the lettering materials didn’t arrive on time.

Paul Johnson and his First Serve crew left for about a week to complete a job in St. Louis, then returned Friday to install the yard markers, hashmarks and end zone lettering. Covering the field with a three-inch layer of rubber granules was the final step of the process. All that remains now is installation of the goal posts.
