Facing elimination and down 6-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Jordan Hohwieler blasted the first home run of the season Monday for the Aurora Seniors, a three-run round-tripper that gave his team a 7-6 win over Pierce.

The Aurora Legion Juniors couldn't get the breaks they needed, as they were eliminated after two games at this year's Class B State Tournament in Chadron. For a recap of the state tournament and coverage of the Class B Area 5 championship, see this week's print or e-editions.

The win advanced Aurora to a rematch with Wayne Tuesday in the district final. Play begins at 5 p.m. in Central City. If Aurora wins the first game, a second game will begin immediately afterward.
