Local farmers use latest innovations on the job PDF E-mail

The carousel of changing technology on the farm is spinning faster than ever, and two Hamilton County farmers said they don’t know where it’s going to end.

James Huenefeld, who farms with dad Paul and uncle Dan in the Aurora area, said it’s hard to believe how much technology has changed in the not-so-distant past.

"It’s scary how fast it’s changing," James said. "We put the autopilot in our tractors in 2008, and it’s changed a lot in the past four years. There’s so many add-ons already, like the variable rate planting and spraying, which we don’t do."
