Chief Custom Homes lands massive ND project PDF E-mail

The impact of North Dakota’s explosive oil industry growth is being felt all the way to Aurora and beyond.

With the advances of drilling technology in the oil-rich Bakken and Three Forks shale formations, North Dakota has solidified itself as the nation’s No. 2 oil producer, bringing jobs and people to the state in droves. They are coming so fast, in fact, that communities like Williston can’t keep pace with the housing demand, which opened a door of opportunity for Chief Custom Homes.

The Aurora-based housing manufacturing company signed a contract in April to build 10 apartment buildings, each measuring 33,000 sq. ft. with 27 living units per building. Construction is well under way on the first 12-box complex, which feature one-, two- and three-bedroom units, and is expected to be ready for occupancy by July 22. The entire project is expected to take about 24 months to complete.
