Heat is on at conference meet PDF E-mail

The Aurora Huskies battled temperatures in the high 90s and an even higher heat index Saturday at the Central Conference Track Meet in Schuyler.

And while distance runners struggled in the heat, it had no impact on those competing in field events where numerous personal records were set.

Aurora track coach Ron Haden said it was those field events that propelled the Huskies to the conference runner-up spot on the boys side -- performances like AJ Farrand’s personal best 13-6 for second place in the pole vault and a near personal best leap of 43-9.75 that put him atop the standings in the triple jump.
