Housing group to build spec homes in Northridge PDF E-mail

The Aurora Construction Enterprises made plans at its annual meeting earlier this month to build two 1,400 to 1,600 sq. ft. spec homes next spring in the Northridge Subdivision.

ACE, a for-profit entity that operates under the Aurora Area Chamber & Development umbrella, has constructed 19 homes since its inception in 1995. The last four homes constructed by ACE have been built as spec homes in the Lincoln Creek Subdivision and one in Asher Subdivision.

In addition, the Aurora Housing Development Corporation (AHDC) plans to build a 1,200 sq. ft. spec home next spring on Birch Street. The non-profit entity has also been an active force in Aurora’s housing development, having constructed more than 63 houses since its inception in 1990.

Between the two housing corporations, they have built more than $3.13 million in housing developments. AHDC was also instrumental in the construction of a $1 million, 18-unit residential apartment project.

Officers and new board members were elected at the annual meeting as follows:

Aurora Housing Development Corporation -- Dennis Ferguson, president; Kevin Henderson, vice president; Kelly Grossnicklaus, secretary; members Bud Pence, Tom Darbro, Sam Moyer, Dick Phillips and Tom Cornwell.

Aurora Construction Enterprises -- Dennis Ferguson, president; Kevin Henderson, vice president; Kelly Grossnicklaus, secretary; members Heather Dubas, Jennie Kuehner, Robin Hansen, Cindy Benson and Matt Shaw.
