Darbro retires as Pinnacle president PDF E-mail

A new year brought a changing of the guard at Pinnacle Bank in Aurora.

Aurora native Tom Darbro ended his 34-year tenure with Pinnacle Bank as he officially announced his retirement. Wade Regier, a 29-year-old local native, stepped in as president of the Aurora bank Jan. 2, noting that customers should see little if any change.

Playing his final game as a Husker, Aurora graduate Andrew Rodriguez and his fellow offensive linemen take a break between offensive series at the Gator Bowl. Rodriguez made his 21st career start and played in his 40th Husker game, winning for the first time in the post-season versus Georgia.

Huskies host holiday tournament PDF E-mail

Aurora's boys and girls basketball teams hosted a holiday tournament on Dec. 30 and 31, the guys scoring 30 fourth quarter points to rally to beat Norfolk Catholic in their opener by the score of 65-62. Aurora trailed 47-35 at the end of the third quarter but went ahead to stay with just 58 seconds remaining on a three-point shot by Tommy Leininger. The Huskies then dropped a 57-40 decision to Beatrice as Austin Allen scored 11 points, while Leininger added eight. The boys head into 2014 with a record of 2-5.
