4R exit report: ‘We think you rock’ PDF E-mail

After two days of fact-finding, observing classrooms and interviewing administrators, teachers, current and former students, school board members and patrons, a six-member external review team concluded there were a lot good things going on within the Aurora District 4R Schools.

In fact, team chairman Barb Friesth, from ESU 7 in Columbus, told those gathered to hear the exit report, “We think you rock!”

Tornado warnings to feature new verbage PDF E-mail

The National Weather Service forecasting office in Hastings is piloting a new warning terminology system for the upcoming tornado season, designed to clearly identify the effects of severe storms.

Lead forecaster Jeremy Wesely told those attending a severe weather awareness presentation last week in Aurora that the words and phrases in the new warnings are designed to better alert the public of the oncoming storm and the danger it presents.

Area track and golf teams are preparing to start a new season, weather permitting.
