Hamilton County Commissioners have a full agenda Monday morning, including reviewing and possibly approving a bid for a new ambulance, continued discussion with Hamilton Manor board members and possible action on a safety survey. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. in the commissioners room on the second floor of the courthouse. Meetings are open to the public. Fatality on I-80 PDF E-mail

One person died Thursday morning as the result of a head-on collision on Interstate 80 which left two vehicles engulfed in flames.
The Nebraska State Patrol reported that a pickup with California license plates heading east about 8:40 a.m. near the 321 milemarker between Phillips and Giltner veered off the interstate, through the median and into the westbound lanes. The vehicle collided with a semi-trailer driven by Joseph Donlan of Wildwood, Ga., at which point both vehicles came to rest just off the road in the north ditch.
