Construction begins on Cottage Park complex PDF E-mail

As construction work begins on a new 14-unit senior housing complex in Aurora, the project developer is already making plans to launch phase two of the Matson Street housing development.

Dana Point Development Corporation has begun construction on Cottage Park, a project scheduled for fall completion. Crews were busy installing water and sewer infrastructure last week and have made visible progress.

 
Marquette man killed in G.I. motorcycle crash PDF E-mail

Rodney Beckman, 51, of Marquette, was killed Sunday when his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a four-door 2012 Chrysler sedan in Grand Island.

Hall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the fatal accident at 4:10 p.m. on East Highway 30. The accident was still under investigation on Monday, according to a Hall County Sheriff’s spokesman.

Pool debut just a month away PDF E-mail

An aerial view of Aurora’s new swimming pool shows how far the project has come in recent days. The pool structure itself and cement deck are now in place, allowing construction crews to focus on finishing work in the bath house. The pool is tentatively scheduled to open May 23, with a grand opening ceremony planned for May 31.
