Early morning scare PDF E-mail

Hampton firefighters responded to an early-morning scare Thursday after smoke was discovered in a downtown building owned by Joseph Construction. Doug Larson, an employee of the business, said he opened the back door and was greeted by smoke coming from an unknown source. Hampton volunteer firefighters were on the scene immediately and had the situation under control. Karen Joseph said the building was used for storage, and at this point she had no idea on extent of damage.

Relay for Life PDF E-mail

"I am Hope!"

The message was everywhere Friday night during the 2012 Hamilton County Relay for Life. Cancer survivors proudly wore the message on the back of their shirts as they walked down sidewalks lined with lumnaria in their honor.

The theme was carried out in the personal messages shared during the night as teams of walkers weaved through Central Park Square during their 12 hour vigil.

Hope was what this year’s Relay was all about -- hope for more survivors every year, hope for the future, hope for a cure.
