Marching Huskies battle heat in band camp PDF E-mail

The Aurora High School Marching Huskies and band directors Dan Sodomka and Kate Metzger battled the heat and humidity during five days of summer band camp as they prepare for their half-time show during the Aurora football team’s home opener Aug. 24 and the upcoming marching band season.

This year’s theme, "The Wizard of Oz Meets The Wiz," includes some very recognizable music accompanied by a complicated marching routine.

Third place finish PDF E-mail

The Aurora Legion Seniors fell to Omaha Roncalli 5-2 Wednesday night in Wahoo, ending their bid for a first-ever state championship.

The Big Red posted a 1-0 lead early, but fell behind 2-1 in the third and couldn't mount a comeback bid. Omaha Roncalli advanced to the title game, where they lost 5-1 to Gering, ending the Class B state tourament.
