Area farmers liking the rain as they hustle to get crops in PDF E-mail

With nearly all corn fields planted and soybeans probably not far behind, the bulk of the planting will be completed soon if the weather cooperates.
With the lack of moisture during the winter, farmers around the area took to the soil not knowing what kind of condition their fields would be in.

New Aurora aquatic center makes debut PDF E-mail

Aurora’s new swimming pool received two thumbs up Friday from an excited group of kids and parents who could hardly wait for opening day.
Shortly after the noon whistle sounded, lifeguards blew their whistles and seconds later kids were simultaneously diving off the boards, plunging into the water and sliding down the colorful new signature slides.

Flowers add color to square PDF E-mail

Flower power returned to downtown Aurora this weekend as a community beautification project entered its third colorful year.
Large hanging baskets filled with petunias in full bloom, 32 in all, were lifted into position by city crews Friday and will remain there until Homecoming weekend in the fall, all part of the Adopt A Flower Basket program. For a complete story, see this week's print or e-edition.
