Lady Huskies end season PDF E-mail

The Aurora Lady Huskies played one of their best games of the year in the district opener, defeating Lexington by 16. Pool taking shape PDF E-mail

The large construction site in Streeter Park is beginning to look like a swimming pool. The Aurora City Council was informed last week that a majority of the sub grade compaction work has been completed. Masonry work on the block building began last week and trusses began going up on the roof as well.  Concrete work on the pool deck has now begun, while crews are also installing five pumps down in the pit area. Council members have not yet decided on a formal name for the pool, which is scheduled to open in May.

 
Low interest rates have impact on housing market PDF E-mail

It may be the dead of winter, but local realtors are reporting that it’s a hot time to buy a house in the Aurora area, that is if you can find the one you’re looking for.

Low interest rates have created a bit of a hot market across the country, according to widespread reports. Buyers can lock in a 15-year mortgage in the 3.75 percent range, and the rate for a 30-year plan is 4.5 percent or less.
