State Fair attendance up PDF E-mail

The 2012 version of the Nebraska State Fair came to a close Monday and initial reports show that attendance was up 1.2 percent with nearly 337,000 people enjoying the 11-day run.
“That’s great news,” sponsorship and marketing director Shaun Schlief said upon hearing the final count. “We have had a lot of compliments, particularly with the entertainment. Booster Club stepping up to help PDF E-mail

It’s hard to measure the value of the Aurora Booster Club.
Sure, you can add up their financial contributions to the Aurora District 4R athletic department over the years, but how do you put a price tag on the intangibles?
How do you put a price tag on cooperation?
How do you put a price tag on moral support?
How do you put a price tag on the hours and hours they put in at concession stands, manning the ticket booth, working on construction projects,  merchandise sales and fundraising projects?
“The time, dedication and energy that the Booster Club puts forth to benefit our athletic program is phenomenal. They not only have made huge contributions to the athletic department, they do so many little things that go unnoticed,” said Aurora schools activities director Tim Huls.

For a complete report of Booster Club activities and fundraising efforts, see this week's print or e-editions.
