Recall petition filed PDF E-mail

A second recall affidavit principal circulator form has been submitted to the Hamilton County clerk’s office -- this one seeking the removal of Douglas L. Andersen from the office of Hamilton County Commissioner -- District 1.

Hamilton County clerk/election commissioner Pat Anderson said Laverne Bamesberger of Marquette submitted the affidavit on Oct. 9, listing the reason for recall as: "Micromanaging county offices, creating a hostile work environment, involvement with questionable sales and purchases of county equipment by not going through the bid process."

 
Madison named OIC in Hampton PDF E-mail

The Hampton Post Office has a new face in charge, at least on a temporary basis.

Cindy Madison is currently running the facility as the officer in charge (OIC), until a permanent postmaster is hired. The process could take somewhere around 30 to 90 days.

"I could be here one month or three months. I don’t think I’ll be here much longer than that," she admitted. "This is just a temporary assignment."

 
Pursleys launch mobile gaming venture PDF E-mail

What started as an online search for video-themed birthday cake designs led to the eventual creation of a new family business for John and Shauna Pursley of Aurora.

Shauna didn’t find the cake designs she was looking for back in February, but what she did find were a number of mobile video game parties, featuring trailers loaded with all the latest games and high-tech toys.
