Breakdown spurs talk of ambulance needs PDF E-mail

Continuing mechanical breakdowns on the Hamilton County Ambulance Service’s 1997 ambulance has prompted commissioners to give the green light to developing specs for a new ambulance and soliciting bids for a Ford and/or Dodge chassis.

Ambulance director Cathy Sigler and assistant director Mark Kubik met with commissioners Monday to update them on the latest breakdown -- a faulty fuel pump that is expected to cost the county an estimated $1,000 to replace.
 
Friday blaze takes barn PDF E-mail

A Friday afternoon structure fire about two miles north of Marquette claimed a barn, but did not approach the home owned by Jeremie and Kelly Johnson.

No one was injured in the blaze.
 
Aurora woman killed in wreck PDF E-mail

A 28-year-old Aurora woman was killed in a collision at a rural intersection 4-1/2 miles northwest of Aurora at approximately 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Stephanie Wrick of Aurora was driving her car south when it collided with a westbound pickup driven by Darrin Grosshans, also of Aurora.

Wrick was pronounced dead at the scene. Grosshans was taken to a hospital and then released.
