‘Bikes A’ROARIN’ show a hit in inaugural year for event PDF E-mail

An estimated 100 bikers from Aurora, and much farther afield, made the trek to Aurora’s Central Park Square Saturday for the inaugural "Bikes A’ROARIN" event.

After it was decided not to have a car show for A’ROR’N Days this year, several bikers in the community suggested a motorcycle show and poker run.

Service to country recognized during Aurora Alumni Hall of Fame induction PDF E-mail

Two career servicemen were the latest inductees into the Aurora High School Alumni Hall of Fame.

Retired Navy Capt. Mel Blixt of Irvine, Calif. and U.S. Army Lt. Col. Monte Yoder of were honored Saturday evening before a record crowd at the Aurora alumni banquet.

Tornado has costly impact on county PDF E-mail

It’s been two weeks since the June 17 tornado wreaked havoc along Highway 34 west of Aurora.

As with most disasters, an unwanted price tag is attached.

Downed power lines, 40 distribution poles and 20 subtransmission poles littered the fields and ditches along the storm’s path.
