Burning Old Glory PDF E-mail

Members of Aurora Boy Scout Troop 28 kicked off the 2014 Hamilton County Fair Wednesday with a ceremonial burning of worn American flags. Scouts layered many flags that had faded and torn over the years, then saluted as they watched them burn. Fair activities kick into high gear Thursday with animal shows during the day. Exhibits go on display at 4:30 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 6 p.m., which is when Family Night Fun begins. The DC Lynch carnival will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight.

For a complete schedule of fair activities, see this week's print or e-editions, or pick up a pocket guide at one of many local businesses.
